PDi has provided support through the Select and Define project stages to Shell for the Tapti Decommissioning project, which is the first offshore Oil & Gas decommissioning project in India. The scope considered the decommissioning of five wellhead platforms and associated subsea infrastructure.
In the absence of an established regulatory framework for planning and executing offshore decommissioning in India, the Tapti project has laid much of the groundwork for the development of legislation and guidance for future decommissioning projects.
In addition to the five wellhead platforms and subsea concrete coated pipelines c/w piggyback lines, a further three processing platforms and associated export pipelines were included in the cost and schedule estimates to cover the business case of full field decommissioning.
Understandably the project has attracted a high level of interest and engagement from field partners and government bodies who formed a working group to provide assurance and a legislative perspective of the planned activities.
PDi’s scope included the following elements:
Shell / BGEPIL
India
2016-2018
